From
October 26 to November 8, 2002, the 158th Fighter Wing of the Vermont
Air National Guard deployed aircraft and personnel to Nellis AFB, Nevada,
to participate in Red Flag 03-01. I've had the opportunity to visit and
spend a few days with The Green Mountain Boys during that Red Flag and
I'm very happy to feature the Boys 'in action' on that page. It was quite
an experience to be there and witness the incredible amount of work it
takes to prepare and launch 8 F-16C twice a day. Seeing the Boys launching
their jets at night was quite a sight and not many people outside the
military have experienced that.
Flying
alongside the 158th FW/VT ANG were the 147th FW/TX ANG and 177th FW/NJ
ANG. All three wings deploy together as part of an Aerospace Expeditionary
Force and this was an excellent opportunity to plan and train together
in such a realistic environment.
A
special "Thanks" to Jill, Jeff, Clyde and Roger for looking
after me and "Thumbs Up" to alll The Green Mountain Boys! It
was fun being there with you all. Enjoy the photos!
